It’s that time again! Hallows Eve is upon us and that means a new spooky project!
Ok, that’s about all the excitement I can muster right now because this month has been total garbage and the project was a real pain from start to finish. October blindsided me and I had nothing planned for this year. Once I did pick a topic, that being the Necromorphs from Dead Space, I got hit with the worst slump I’ve ever had and wasted the entire first week doing nothing and feeling awful. Even once I got back on my feet I had things going wrong at every turn.
That said, writing it was fun and I got to learn how to make a custom Homebrewery style, which was a great experience. All in all, the whole thing came together from scratch in about 3 weeks, which is pretty quick for something like this.
I’ll be honest, this is not my best work. I had to rush a lot of it to get it done by the 31st, even earlier for my patrons. There’s a lot I wish I could have done and things that could have been done better, but here we are. That said, I’m still pretty happy with how it turned out as a whole. For what it is, it’s not bad, far from it. Just wish I’d had more time.
Something else to mention is that this is only the beginning. This project has laid a lot of the groundwork for the eventual full Dead Space supplement I want to do. More mechanics, better artwork, more monsters, items, the whole shebang. Hell, this isn’t even the end for this particular brew either! Because I had to rush it, I’m going to be taking the time after a while to start updating it and release those over time. A truly Bethesda move, but I really wanted to maintain my release record for the last 2 years.
Anyway, Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe, stay spooky, and I need a break…
